About Us
We established Lakeside Images to bring fine photography to Summerlin. We are located in Desert Shores in the Lakeside Center. Chris Kompst, the head photographer has more than 20 years experience as a photojournalist and fifteen years experience as a wedding and portrait photographer. He started his career in Tokyo and his work was featured in the magazine "47." He studied black and white printing with master printer Tim Porter. Porter was an artist's artist and taught him that a compelling image was the goal. While living in Tokyo, he traveled to more than 30 countries with an eye to becoming a National Geographic photographer.
In 1994, he and his family moved to the island of Maui. His artistic soul was right at home on the beautiful island. Twice his photographs were accepted by the juried show, Art Maui. In 1997, he established his first studio, Imagine Maui and entered the wedding photography business. "I'm glad that I started my career as a photojournalist, seeking great images. I came into wedding photography with knowledge of what makes a great image, not how to pose people. Once I learned the poses, I had the whole package. Still a lot of my best pictures from each wedding or portraiture sitting are candid, found images that are unplanned." We are looking for a unique way of presenting you to the world.
In 2004 Chris moved to Las Vegas and worked for Cashman Professional for 3 years before starting Lakeside Images. The studio's location is second to none in Las Vegas, though Lakeside Images also offers services at client's homes or businesses and Red Rock Canyon.
